Lessons learned
Lessons learned from the Ovide project
The OVIDE project explored the use of digital video to support teacher education. Through a series of Case Studies the project explored different ways of using video and in doing so discovered several important issues that must be addressed by others who would like to use video to support teacher education.
The OVIDE project defined six distinct ways in which video might be used to support learners.
- Demonstration of teaching behaviour
- Demonstration of characteristic professional situations
- Demonstration of own teaching behaviour
- Demonstration of professional situations for assessing competencies
- Demonstration of context and subject matter to the teacher educators
- Demonstration of context and subject matter to the teacher trainees
A p.d.f. file contains a summary of the key issues that need to be addressed if digital video is to be used successfully to support teacher educators and teacher trainees. You can download the file here
